Alien Resurrection

We're concluding our deep dive into the ALIEN franchise this week with a look at 1997's ALIEN RESURRECTION, the weirdest, goopiest, kinkiest movie in the franchise to date! Sigourney Weaver returns with an entirely new take on Ripley, and while your mileage may vary on how successful it is, it's undeniably fascinating. We're also playing our first PlayStation 1 game this week, with the long-delayed first-person shooter adaptation that was surprisingly groundbreaking for it's time.

Alien 3

Strap into your power loader and get ready for the ride of your life, because this week we're taking on James Cameron's ALIENS! One of the most influential action movies of all time, this film has an outsized impact on video games in particular, with more game adaptations than any other title we've covered so far! We narrowed it down to the 1990 arcade version and the 2011 Nintendo DS game ALIENS: INFESTATION! 
The ALIEN series gets down and dirty with the visionary, divisive sequel ALIEN 3, the directorial debut of David Fincher! This movie can be off-putting in it's nihilistic tone, but its also an admirably bold and effective movie that takes some really big swings. We'll also be talking about ALIEN 3: THE GAME on Super Nintendo, an action game with an interesting early open-world system and about four times the guns as the movie.

Alien

Light your flamethrowers and check your ducts (ducks?), because we're kicking off our longest and slimiest miniseries yet with our look at the ALIEN franchise! We're starting with Ridley Scott's terrifying 1979 masterwork, ALIEN, with it's iconic creature design, tense atmosphere, and the proper debut of the great Sigourney Weaver as Ripley! We're also looking at two games: the 1982 Atari 2600 adaptation ALIEN, and ALIEN: ISOLATION, a 2014 horror game that reunites some of the original cast members for a special DLC adventure set aboard the Nostromo.

The Blair Witch Project

We bid a fond farewell to spooky season this week with a look back at the seminal indie film sensation THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT! Love it or hate it, it's impossible to deny the huge impact this movie had on pop culture. We're also playing the 2019 game adaptation, BLAIR WITCH, a first-person survival horror game that features a real good boy named Bullet.

Addams Family Values (with Hayato DeSouza)

We're also looking at two games based on the film: the NES adaptation and it's higher-res SNES sibling!
